Last Outing

watched The Golden Compass with the guys a few hours ago.

that was the last outing seeing all of us together before a few of them go botak. wahaha.

ok, let's talk about the movie first. it was a nice movie with a nice ending that obviously hinted there will be a sequal to that. the whole plot was great, just that there were too little actions to look out for. i felt there could be more. i wonder why war scenes always ended so quickly, that was the same for LOTR III too. also, some scenes were pretty expected, just like any other movies. well ... haha.

perhaps another draw back was their lack of humour. nowadays even horror movies have bits of humour here and there. ok, perhaps the director was trying something different, but i guess they pass it off well anyway.

so here's the rating, 3.5-4/5. it could be better with longer action scenes, and perhaps more exciting animations and effects. i'll be anticipating part II, which i guess will be out by next year, or early 2009.

now, the outing. actually we didn't do much other than having a quick dinner and the movie. haha. so that's all? yea, good luck guys, for those going into camp next week =D.

oh yes, i must talk about the food we had. it was in the food court in PS, and surprisingly, it's good! it's the riverside indonesian food, and i had the grilled chicken set, with additional rice. let me tell you, the bbq sauce and chilli are a must to have with your rice. the chilli was not exactly very spicy, a very typically indonesian-styled as i heard that indonesians love sweet food. the chicken leg was not exactly very flavourful, and they covered it up with their special bbq sauce. man, i had 1.5 bowl of rice and it wasn't enough. haha. this stall was actually introduced to me by justin and aric, and my friend happened to try it before and ask us to try too, so ... why not?! haha.
